In their effort to project their own self-centeredness onto the Gen-X, they believe they do understand us--we are the image of who they were in their 30&amp;#39;s, 40&amp;#39;s, right?  Wrong, but as you mentioned, they do not listen to us.  They do not care what we think about this or any other issue.  There is also the issue of the Boomers needing to feel they are still young.  The result of which is their refusal to &amp;quot;step-aside&amp;quot; i.e. make room for their children&amp;#39;s generation.
